The Ultra Tour Monte Rosa is a new endurance running race encircling the 4000m Monte Rosa. The 110 km “zero” edition is a 3-day stage race from Cervinia, Italy to Grächen, Switzerland. For this inaugural edition there will be 120 participants from 16 different countries, and almost a third of the entrants are women. The race starts in Cervinia at 0600 on Thursday 20th August 2015.

Ultra Tour Monte Rosa

The spectacular Monte Rosa massif, with 10 summits over 4000m, lies on the Swiss-Italian border. The race follows the wildly beautiful trails of the Tour de Monte Rosa taking a challenging and diverse high-level route around this magnificent mountain. The region of the race is host to thirty-eight 4000m mountains, including of course, the iconic Matterhorn. Wherever the runner is along the race route these lofty summits are awe-inspiring companions.
