Gower Walking Festival 2014  

Tenth Gower Walking Festival: June 7 – 22, 2014

(Winner: Swansea Bay Tourism Award 2012 – Best Festival or Event

 Finalist: 2012 Sustainable Swansea Awards, Swansea)

Centred on Britain’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Gower Walking Festival is organised and run entirely by volunteers and is a great opportunity to see the wonderful wildlife of the Gower Peninsula and the surrounding area. It takes place from June 7-22 2014, and there are over 70 guided walks and activities for experienced walkers, leisurely strollers, and everyone in between! Many of the popular walks like Copperopolis, Oxwich and Worms Head remain, but there are also many new walks this year, including Miners and Smugglers, Photography at Morfa and Cwmcerdin, which is a circular walk in North Gower. To celebrate our tenth anniversary, there will be a walk to an ancient “sunken garden”, to enjoy a delicious cream tea in the company of our patron Derek Brockway on June 14th There will also be chances to explore the history of the area including “The Vile”, an ancient field system at Rhossili.
