The Pennine Way Stage 1 starts its journey in the Peak District from the Nags Head in the centre of Edale to Crowden Beck via Jacob's Ladder, Kinder Scout and the Kinder Downfall, The Snake Pass and Bleaklow

The Pennine Way route from Edale according to the signpost in the centre of the village on longer takes you up Grinsbrook and on to the peat bog of the Kinder Plateau but leads you along the old bad weather route through to Upper Booth.
