Teva Riva Peak Mid eVent®

Over a two day period in February 2014 we donned a brand new pair of Teva Riva Peak Mid eVent® walking boots and headed out to the Yorkshire Wolds and North York Moors to let you know what we think!

Teva Riva Peak Mid eVent boot review

The first thing we noticed was the look of the boot! In insignia blue full grain leather they look great with a fashionable dapple and hatch design, big assured toe bumpers and high heal support. The toe bumpers give solid toe protection especially on rocky ground and scree.

When you place your foot into the boot there is an instant feeling of comfort possibly due to the widened forefoot.

The wider North European last has been used in the manufacture of this boot so it's ideal for the UK market.

When lacing up the boot begins to give full support to the ankle and the Shoc Pad™ in the heel begins to give comfort as soon as you start to walk.

The plastic PU midsole whilst not too stiff also gives support whilst in motion.

The one minor disappointment with this boot for me is the length of the laces. I like to tie a double knot to secure the boot but found there wasn't sufficient to do so.

The Vibram® sole does have deep lugs that do give great grip on loose and wet terrain both of which we encountered over the two days.

Teva is apparently obsessed with water and has introduced an eVent® breathable membrane to keep the water out whilst releasing the moisture from within.

We tested the theory in a stream on the Cleveland Way stage 1 for 10mins.

As time ticked away my feet cooled, but the boots remained watertight!

These are a great pair of very comfortable boots that we would highly recommend and with a suggested retail price they are superb value for money for such a boot.
